Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is a Big Hit

The development team of Assassin’s Creed Shadows at Ubisoft has released a heartfelt statement after the game’s successful launch. In a Reddit post, the studio said that the team behind the game spent the launch week checking out fans’ reactions. And the team has felt the love and warm welcome of its players.

“We just want to say thank you. The sheer amount of love and positivity we’ve received has been incredibly heartwarming,” Ubisoft said. “Seeing your excitement, your thoughtful reactions, and your joy has meant the world to us. After years of hard work, there’s nothing more rewarding than watching the community connect with what we’ve created.”

The post also mentioned that the staffers wouldn’t be able to reply to each and every message. However, they reassured them by saying, “We’re listening.”

“The entire development team has been reading your posts–the celebrations, the feedback, the theories–and it’s been inspiring. It fuels us. And it helps us keep improving,” Ubisoft said. “Thank you for being part of this journey with us. This is just the beginning for Shadows, and we’re thrilled to see the game evolve with you by our side.”

A top reply to Ubisoft’s post came from a longtime gamer who said they’ve enjoyed the Assassin’s Creed series for years.

“I’m an old lady gamer (62 now, gaming since I was 28) who fell in love with AC many moons ago,” WaywardJake wrote. “Shadows is brilliant. I’m so very proud of you all. Thank you from the bottom of my wrinkly old heart. xx”

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has surpassed 2 million players in its first weekend. According to Variety and VGC, the game had the second-best first-day sales revenue in the franchise, only beaten by 2020’s Valhalla.
