CBI books railway official for bribe at Secunderabad

Hyderabad: The CBI has registered a case against the chief commercial inspector of the Secunderabad railway station for allegedly demanding bribes from a parking contractor. According to the complaint, the inspector demanded a weekly bribe of `Rs 10,000.
The complainant alleged that the official threatened to impose heavy penalties, submit adverse reports and even terminate the contract if the bribe was not paid. The contractor further claimed they were incurring financial losses and were additionally threatened with false cases at the RPF police station for non-compliance.
Following the complaint, the CBI conducted searches at two locations in Hyderabad linked to the accused. During the raids, officials recovered documents believed to substantiate the allegations. The CBI stated that further investigation is underway.
