Government rethinking plans to cut welfare budget

After Cabinet unease and threats of a rebellion from backbenchers, it seems the government is rethinking its plans to freeze some disability benefits – including Personal Independence Payments, or PIPs.

Deep cuts to the welfare budget are due to be set out in a green paper on Tuesday. But do the reported concessions go far enough for restive MPs?
