French President Emmanuel Macron aims to name a new Prime Minister for France “within 48 hours” as he seeks to end political deadlock following the ouster of Michel Barnier. FRANCE 24’s Sharon Gaffney speaks to Renaud Foucart, Senior Lecturer at Lancaster University. He says that the center-left parties called to the Elysée on Tuesday seem willing to work together but it’s unclear whether the new government will eventually lean center-left or center-right.
