Why Michelle Obama Said No to Having a 3rd Baby With Barack Obama – E! Online

Michelle Obama is more than happy with her and Barack Obama’s family of four.

The Becoming author revealed that she shut down the former President’s idea of having another baby after welcoming daughters Malia Obama, 26, and Sasha Obama, 23. 

“I was like, ‘I think I’ve been lucky with these two,’” Michelle explained to pregnant Kylie Kelce on the March 20 episode of the Not Gonna Lie podcast. “Barack was like, ‘We should have a third,’ and I was like, ‘Dude.’”

After all, the attorney wasn’t interested in pushing her luck after having what she called two “good sleepers.”

“I’m thinking we’re going to get a crazy one,” she admitted. “It’s just the roll of the dice.”

The stress that comes with the early stages of motherhood was never lost on Michelle, who reflected on her own experience with postpartum depression.

“The sadness or the postpartum that I felt with my kids really came from, like, you love these babies,” she explained. “Immediately, you’re connected. You think, ‘Oh my God, all you have is me. I feel so bad for you. I wish you had a parent. You deserve more because I don’t know anything and now I’m in charge.’”
